Universal standards for every post, story, reel, or video published on FSU channels.

Action Item Requirement / Best Practice
Add Alt Text Provide descriptive alt text for every image. describe the content and context.
Captions & Transcripts Ensure all videos and stories have accurate captions. Edit auto-generated text for clarity.
CamelCase Hashtags Capitalize the first letter of each word (e.g., #GoNoles). Place hashtags at the end of the post.
No Emoji Bullets Do not use emojis as bullets (e.g., 📌 Step 1). Screen readers will say "Pushpin Step One," confusing the list hierarchy.
Emoji Placement Keep emojis at the end of sentences. Placing them mid-sentence (e.g., "Check out 🎨 our art") disrupts the verbal flow.
Ban ASCII & Fake Fonts Avoid "keyboard art" and Unicode "fancy fonts" (e.g., 𝔟old). Screen readers often skip these or read them as math symbols.
Color Contrast Confirm text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio. Check via WebAIM.
Flashing Content Do not use content that flashes more than 3x per second to prevent seizures.
